TMZ Story: "Villian on Show, Hero in Marines"

TMZ just rolled out this story on BB19's Cody Nickson this morning. In the article, they mention how fans of Big Brother were upset when Paul & Co. questioned his military service.

""Big Brother" star Cody Nickson didn't just serve his country as a Marine for 4 years, he was also twice deployed and received numerous medals ... according to his file obtained by TMZ.

Cody's been on the outs with the rest of the cast except his gf, Jessica, but things got nasty this week when some of them -- including Paul Abrahamian -- tried antagonizing the Marine Corps vet by questioning his military experience ... and 'BB' fans were pissed.

Rightfully so, it turns out, because according to Cody's official military file ... he served in the Marine Corps from December 2008 to December 2012, reaching the rank of E-4 Corporal with a specialty as a Rifleman. He previously served in the U.S. Air Force as well.

Nickson received numerous honors ... including campaign medals for his tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, 2 National Defense Service Medals, a Good Conduct Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and 2 Navy Unit Commendations.
Though he's portrayed as a villain on the show ... you gotta respect him."

And now we'll get to look forward to watching the consequences of the career suicides of Alex, Paul, Raven, and Christmas.
(Professional disgrace is what I mean by career suicide)

Kudos to Cody, my hat's off to you! It's so nice to see a nice pic of him smiling and looking relaxed. Thank you for serving our country!

I sure hope that Paul is ashamed of himself for his behavior when he learns this. There was no reason for him to go to such lengths in bullying as he did. He himself called what he was doing as bullying, even to the extent of telling Josh to step up his bullying by 30%. He knew full well what he was doing.

If someone besides Cody/Jessica win HOH, it would be so exciting to see the other HG's step up to the plate and make a bold move, meaning put up who they actually want, especially Kevin, Jason, or Matt. They are definitely having different opinions than what Paul is thinking, even Christmas and Josh.

They are all more concerned with making it to jury and the fact that Paul guaranteed that he would get them there. Josh even went so far as to accuse Cody/Jess of stealing jury from them. What nonsense is that? No one was guaranteed that.

Paul is being hateful and vengeful and not thinking past his inability to control them. His philosophy, crap on me, I crap on you. He is not seeing it as a fair game. Why wouldn't Cody have tried to get him out the first week? That just makes sense.

On the way out the door, didn't Cody tell Paul that he respected him? Cody started out wrong and is now cornered and paying the price. He definitely wasn't playing a social game.

Please please please let BB show the extent to which everyone was awful to him. His opening up to Jess on last night's episode but me squarely back on team Cody. I already liked him because he's so against the normal hyperactive HG that screams every time the TV turns on, but now I think he's a genuinely good guy with a very low tolerance for stupid and I can appreciate that.

I don't think it's right that anyone should pick or bullying using military service period. That is the lowest move you can make especially because he protected and offered his life to keep you safe. I didn't care for Paul last season and I don't care for him this season.

I don't know if Cody is the best or worst person in the house, but I don't think he made the wrong move in the beginning. It was only natural to go after the vet, but It didn't work out. Paul needs to get over it.

And I notice a lot of people saying Cody doesn't have much of a personality, etc. he reminds me a lot of my fiancé. Sometimes you don't know what they saw out in combat and how it effects them. Sometimes they just don't have that social spirit like others do. I personally never found Cody to be a psychopath or whatever else people have called him. He is a young man that has seen more than an average American citizen in his life and is now in a house full of people that don't have the same experiences as him so he just comes acrossed differently. I hope these house guests get a rude awakening when they get out and see the wrongs they have done and thank him and apologize.

That's why I'm all for the guy and have been since day 1

I do not like Paul at all and I am sick of BB bringing back former guests. I am behind Cody all the way, yes he needs some work but that could the war trauma ptsd not sure that is right. I can't take Josh either, most of the show is on mute or I check with Jamie.

I was shocked that Paul and gang went there! It was a low blow for sure. Cody's downplaying of PTSD also disappointed me though. I know Cody said on the live feeds that he left and came back the same person, but personally knowing vets who have/are experienced/experiencing PTSD, I think he should have been more careful with his words. I am grateful for his service, but I don't think he's cut out for this game. You have to have some social game and he just doesn't.

Paul hides behind" it's a game". No Paul.. we see the real nasty you.

Well said. He makes all the other HGs look like fools just by being normal.

Cody is my favorite houseguest this season. I really wish CBS would not have (and stops) bringing previous players like Paul back. I would have enjoyed watching Cody and Mark run this house of floaters this season.

Cody offered his life to protect all of us so we could have entertainment like television shows. He is a stoic ex marine who has seen more and done more than the other kids in the house this year. He is just an intense guy, not a happy go lucky idiot like some of the people in the house this year.

I don't hate Paul. Paul is a product, he is a character...but I respect Cody far more than anyone in that house right now. I hope Cody wins HoH tonight.

I would love to see them put Paul up and out but this group is spineless - of course Paul wants to guarantee them jury because that would be votes for him - I cannot stand him and I really hope he's evicted next week. I hope America boycotts everything that has to do with him - shame on you Paul you spoiled bully!!

It might be that Cody should get back into the military or some occupation where he won't be dealing with the public. He doesn't have a lot of motivation to change his poor social skills and even if he did, it is not likely he would be able to make a lot of changes. Like he said there is a reason he has no friends, not married and not much going on between him and his family. Some people are born soldiers and socially inept. LOL, I think Jessica thinks she can "tame" Cody. He is giving her fair warning that that will not likely happen. She should take heed. She should also know that if she pushes too far, the outcome may not be good. Her concerns about how Cody will behave "in the real world" are well founded. As for Paul, he too, should take care to not push too far.

Well said! I agree 💯!

Agree with others - I hope they feel like a fool when they see this, esp Paul. It just makes me wonder why Cody decided to play this game, since he's just not a social guy. Maybe the money or maybe recruited?
I wonder the same about kevin since he knows no past players - recruited?

I think overall the other houseguests are immature compared to Cody. Cody has been to war which i think really speeds up the maturing process unlike someone like Paul or Josh.

Yes...my husband and I said the same thing.

I'm also upset and surprised Kevin -as a dad- hasn't stopped the harassment. Bystanders can be just as guilty.

Also this has been a weird year. Was Paul coming back regardless? What was said to xmas in the hospital? Hospital staff doesn't have to follow productions rules. Why is she still there?

Unknown said...

Lets hope so!!!! When Cody goes...I go. Thanks Big brother for a handful of disrespectful bullies who have just plain pissed me off!

Has anyone watched. Paul
Is honest about is game. Cody betrayed his entire team initially and Jess. He dead faced lied about not want Alex and Jason around to evict Jess and Raven. Cody Looked her straight in the eye and lied.

I do agree that whole thing in the yard was BS and embarrassing for all.

Hello???? This is Big Brother everyone lies!

The taunting may have gone too far but I'm struggling to fault them for questioning it. How many houseguests have come in, lied about their profession and had it work to their advantage?

When you walk through those doors, you can essentially be anyone you've ever wanted to be as long as you can keep the act up. People have lied about being sick, their families, all sorts of things in an effort to do that they feel they need to make it to the end of the road.

Cody deserves respect for his service (that's not up for debate as far as I'm concerned) but unfortunately I don't feel as though simply stating you've served in any capacity in THIS environment automatically demands you believe it. I also firmly believe that many, if not all, of those questioning him will give him the respect he deserves for his service once they know FOR SURE that he's actually served.

For some people, deceit has no boundaries and in this game neither does paranoia.

In all my years of watching BB I have never seen such spineless sheep as the Paul minions. Paul orders tgem around and even calls them dogs and they bark like pathetic little followers. Cody is the only man in the house and Jessica is the only girl with class. Just disgusting group this year. I hate bullies. And josh is the most pathetic if all. Josh can dish it out but cries like a baby if someone looks at him wrong.

Unknown said...

Does BB have no shame, to allow this type of behavior, wow, what a let down

Unknown said...

This show has gone to far. Josh is by far the worse player ever. Time to boycott

I agree, Cody all the way. Stop all these bullies in this house, kick them out.

Can we maybe think that in the beginning when Cody was HOH and decided to put Paul up on the block, and not tell anybody, not even Jess. That he wanted to take all the heat for it out of respect for his team. That is also out of respect like what a soldier would do. The people he was working with thought he betrayed them all! When all he was really doing was protecting them all. He was ready to take the blame and the repercussions of putting Paul up! He knew Paul would come after him. Which Paul did And rallied the whole house against Cody. That is why when Cody knew he was going home the first time, he and Paul fist pumped each other and Cody looked Paul right in his eyes and said "respect"! Now that is class and respect... I thought from player to player. This season lacks all of that and more. BB 19 I hope you keep Jody alive for this season! This would be epic to watch them stay in the house and watch Paul squirm!!!!!

It really doesn't matter if he was a general! He was mean and nasty from the very start. Just because he served in the military he doesn't get a pass for being an asshole!

Carla said...

Both Cody and Jessica have been stuck up and pretentious the entire game. It's no wonder they're not liked. I knew it when he nominated ? Megan for eviction because he didn't like her. That's maturity!! Please people stop with the PTSD !!! Not every soldier has it and if they do they surely should not be on BB!!

Unknown said...

Jessica has found something more valuable than money...Cody!!!

Unknown said...

And thats why im done. I wanted to jump through tv and beat me some Josh and Paul ass...and im a girl!!!!!

Hazel said...

Who else has ever had to nominate 5 to go on the block. My gosh he was bound to tick someone off and that happened to be paul... at that point, he didn't even really know the people
